BEE BEARDSWORTH works and lives in London. Bee is an artist, curator and cultural consultant whose practice is currently centred on writing, movement & visual arts.
Bee held her curatorial debut exhibition titled ‘Fuego de Tierra (EARTHFIRE)’ in Fitzrovia, London across April - May 2024, featuring the work of nine artists shown in an entirely transformed space and with programming including two specially created performances across the opening dates.
Bee’s curatorial practice is concentrated on exploring spatial biopolitics, utopias and heterotopias, and ways of being that alchemise multiple points of cultural transmutation to form sites of individual and collective transcendence, emancipation and protest. Her work draws on a passion for literature, culture and nightlife. Combining an academic background in History of Art & Visual Cultures with a specific focus on the internet, post-modern philosophy, occulture, architecture, feminism and queer studies, Bee is drawn to the obsessive, the transgressive and the other-worldly.
Bee is a regular contributor to consumer insights agency Canvas8, and has a perfume column for Dazed Beauty which has so far dissected The Smell of Sex and The Smell of Death. Other notable recent essays, articles and interviews have been created for Autostraddle, DECENT & Basement.
